Grand Central Terminal, one of the World's busiest train terminals, was built in 1913 by the Vanderbilt family to replace their aging mansion and townhouse complex. Grand Central currently serves 300,000 commuters and more than 750,000 visitors every day. Some of the highlights of this historic building include the opal-faced clock, valued at $20 million, above the Information Booth, the Largest Tiffany Glass Clock in the World, and the Whispering Gallery in front of the Oyster Bar and Restaurant. Local Tips

Best to visit during the day when people are at work. Before 9am and after 4pm this attraction is packed with commuters. This is a good attraction to take in with a tour.
