The High Line

Look no further if you're looking for something free to do in NYC on a beautiful sunny day. The once-abandoned elevated rail line has been transformed into an urban paradise offering unparalleled views of Manhattan. Buildings from the Meatpacking District in the south to Midtown West in the north rise above you as you wind your way along the rails, taking in the surrounding views and scoping out the changing neighborhoods. There are plenty of places to sit, seasonal flowers, intriguing art—and even a park within a park as The Ravine waterfront garden rests on top of a 10-story condo building. The High Line runs North & South from Gansevoort St in the Meatpacking District to 30th St in Hudson Yards. It's open daily and is a great way to get your steps in, while exploring NYC.

Local Tips

This is a paired perfectly with a visit to Hudson Yards and Chelsea Market. The High Line connects both attractions.
