This experience takes you to the oldest bar in New York City, which served many patrons over the years. In a constantly evolving city, it’s easy to overlook the historical impact of the landmarks. This bar is one of those landmarks. Some of the most famous patrons include America’s founding fathers, George Washington, Aaron Burr, and Alexander Hamilton. In fact, the bar served as the setting as the backdrop in the first two acts of the hit Broadway play Hamilton. It served as a meeting place for George Washington’s meeting place in real life. The bar was last renovated in 2010 and now boasts a full-service kitchen, a wide variety of beer, and a curated whiskey selection.
This is a great spot to pair with a trip to other historical attractions like the World Trade Center, Statue of Liberty, or 911 Memorial.
+ Immerse yourself in American history
+ Good for kids inspired by the play Hamilton
+ Good place to refuel when visiting other historical attractions
+ Great value for the experience
