Khonsu is a personal travel service that helps travelers maximize their time in NYC. We help people find fun things to do, great places to eat, and provide assistance while they explore.
The name Khonsu is taken from an Egyptian god whose name translates to the word “traveler". You can read more about the god Khonsu on the Wikipedia page here. Khonsu was thought to assist and improve people's journey while they were away from home … the same mission we’re on.
The company started in 2020 during the height of the pandemic when thousands of travel nurses visited NYC. At that time NYC was shut down, restaurants were closed, and COVID was reshaping the way we navigated the city. When we started, we created a service in Facebook messenger and made ourselves available to travelers through social and local hotels. We found ourselves assisting travel nurses plan their next meal, book hotel rooms, and map a day of COVID safe activities for their kids during their days off. Now we offer that same service for all travelers.
We know this city changes a lot and there's a lot to take in. If you have a travel question, or just want a local opinion ask us. We’re here to help.
Enjoy your stay!
