The 911 memorial is a tribute to the victims and brave first responders who lost their lives on that day. In the heart of lower Manhattan, where the Twin Towers stood, four square pools sit in the footprints of the original towers. These waterfalls cascade 9 feet down, surrounded by bronze panels with the names of those who perished at ground zero. The museum is filled with personal stories and artifacts from this tragic time in our history. Tickets are required to enter, but visitors can visit the outdoor memorial for free. Tours are given daily and can be booked on our site here.
This attraction is great for a tour, to hear first hand what the city went through. We have tours listed on our site here.
The memorial is free but the museum costs. Make sure to stop by the Oculus after. This is the subway station with the white arced panels above it. The panels are meant to represent a hope. Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes.
