The Best Places To Stay Warm This February
Look here’s a few facts about NYC in February … it’s cold, it’s cold and it’s cold. If you’re not sure just check the weather. But here’s the upside if you’re visiting, 8 million people have figured out how to make it through this month by staying cozy and warm at our favorite spots. Here’s 7 spots we recommend.
Summit One is a new observatory in NYC. The cafe and bar at the top has amazing views and drink menu. If you’re visiting during the middle of the day, step outside on the outdoor terrace bar and get enjoy some fresh air.
Yes, we know there’s a Starbucks on every corner but this one is not the average. The Roastery on 9th ave in the meatpacking district is the largest working coffee roasting plant in Manhattan and at 23k square foot it’s easy to see why. There’s a 60-foot bar on the mezzanine with drinks made from coffee, a fireplace, and a scoop bar with 14 roasting beans from around the world.
Located between Washington Square Park and Union Square is Alta serving Mediterranean tapas. It’s a great spot to check out if you’re in Greenwich Village for live music or comedy. And it’s on our list because it’s so cozy to sit by the fire and Alta has two fireplaces to enjoy.
There’s few places that feel as New York as Rockefeller Center in the winter. If you’re in the area, stop by the City Winter pop-up heated domes. They can seat up to 8 people, offer full-service dining and great winter drinks like mulled wine and spiked cider, along with their signature wines.
We love these glasshouses at Watermark bar. They always look beautiful in pictures and the location has some of the best views. Right on the east river this 7,500 square foot restaurant has clear views of the Brooklyn, Manhattan and Williamsburg bridges. The menu includes s’mores, fondue and our winter favorite spiked hot chocolate.
Yes, chalets. These chalets are open to the public, so you don’t have to be a hotel guest to enjoy them. Located on the 23rd floor of the William Vale hotel, these chalets can be rented for 90 mins and there’s even an ice rink right outside so the views from this rooftop are rare in NYC.
Keeping things in Brooklyn with Black Mountain Wine House. Between Carroll Garden & Gowanus, this wine bar’s cozy warm feels like an upstate house but located only 10 mins from the Barclays Center. With mountain home-style chairs and a fireplace, this venue does a great job creating a warm, relaxing atmosphere. The perfect place for an evening pre-game drink.
