NYC has changed since the pandemic. We were once the epicenter of COVID cases in the country, and that has shaped our recovery. Guidance changes as the rates increase or decrease. The rates are currently low in the city, as indicated on the NYC government website here.

What does that mean if you're planning a visit to New York City? The United States requires anyone entering the country must be fully vaccinated and have a negative COVID test at least 1 day prior to departure. Check with your airline about how to submit this information. This is important to do in advance. Don’t stress yourself out. Start this process 3-5 days before you fly to give yourself enough time to get things ready.

Once you get into the city things get easier. As of March 7th, the city does not require proof of vaccination to enter most indoor venues, but masks are still required. A few business still require vaccination but most do not. Masks are highly encouraged so make sure to pack some masks with you. It will make your life easier to wear a mask at the door and it’s a sign of respect for the people who work there. Most attractions in New York City do not require proof of vaccination but do require masks. Indoor venues like Broadway, The Met Opera, and Madison Square Garden are the major exceptions mainly because indoor venues seat people close together. Other attractions like Summit One and the Statue Of Liberty do not require proof of vaccination to enter, but they need masks to be worn. RISE NY

If you’re traveling with kids and looking for a way to see the best NYC sights without shelping around the city, Rise NY is your answer. This flight simulation ride is New York’s answer to fun family activities in Times Square. The ride will take you iconic landmarks like the NYC skyline, fashion areas, popular film backdrops, Broadway and music centers. Guests are suspended 30feet in the air with a 180 degree view that projects 8k aerial footage of the city. The seats spin, drop, twist and turn in every direction giving guests of every ate a change to explore NYC like nothing they’ve seen before.

The Edge In Hudson Yards

In case you haven’t heard, the tallest outdoor platform in the Western Hemisphere has landed in NYC, in Hudson Yards. This attraction is one of our favorite. The area is completely renovated and the view from this Manhattan west end attraction is picture perfect. The terrace is 65 feet in the sky, offers panoramic views of the skyline and brave souls can stand on a large see through glass floor and watch people 1,1000 feet beneath them. For the less brave there is a 10,000 square foot bar called Peak where they can grab a drink before making their way back to the ground.

QC Spa

Governor’s Island has long been a sleepy island get a way with its car free roads, lush parks and beautiful views of the New York skyline. But as of March 4th, 2022 this has become a destination retreat with the opening of QC Spa. This Italian themed wellness spa brings the elegance and rejuvenation of a classic European Spa to NYC. A free ferry ride takes visitors to the island daily, making it the perfect hidden attraction for guests to NYC.

Summit ONE

The biggest new attraction for the year is Summit One Vanderbilt. It sits 67 stories in the air at One Vanderbilt skyscraper at 1,401 feet tall. It’s the fourth tallest building in the city. The top three tallest building in NYC are: One World Trade Center, Central Park Tower and 111 West 57th Street. Summit One sits just west of Grand Central Terminal and has an visual experience that will surprise and delight. Once you get off the elevator on the 91st floor you step into a space covered with a fully reflective material that feels like an endless mirror which makes you feel like you’re walking on air Bring sunglasses if you visit during the day because the light bounces off everything.

Moynihan Train Hall

After three years of renovations at Penn Station, the century-old Farley Post Office Building is finally transformed from an old Penn Station structure into a new pedestrian-friendly building crossing 8th Avenue. The $1.6 billion dollar train concourse is the busiest in the Western Hemisphere and features a spacious light filled atrium with 92 foot glass skylight and high ceiling commemorating the original design. The second mezzanine houses restaurants and shops and gives commuters a chance to pick up last minute items before they depart.

Rockefeller Center Roller Skating

We saved the best for last. Each winter Rockefeller Center turns transforms into a beautiful outdoor ice skating rink where guests can skate right in the middle of the city. But once winter is gone, so is the ice and the fun. Starting April 15th 2022, West Hollywood’s iconic roller rink Flippers Roller Boogie Palace is taking over the space and turning it into a roller skating rink. It will be open until October. The space of the rink will be slightly smaller than the ice skating rink but will have more room for guests to sit and eat while they rest between skating.
